[This is a diary in the purest sense: nothing earth-shattering to be found here.]
Well, T minus eight hours until the big GOTV slog tomorrow (I've committed to working all day, from six a.m. until seven p.m.). I'd love to say I was really looking forward to it, charged up for a glorious battle to retake democracy. But I'm basically a lazy sod at heart (shocker, given my screen name, I know) and I'm not a morning person either. The idea of getting up at 5:30 to go walk god knows how many miles knocking on doors just doesn't thrill me, I confess. But I'm going to grin and bear it because I know it's an important race, and I keep hearing about what a great "GOTV machine" the GOP has in this state--so we've got to do what we can to counter it.
I'll be looking forward to getting to the end of the long day, hitting the local Democratic watering hole with the rest of the volunteers, and tossing a few back as we watch the returns come in on the big screen.
Good hunting, everyone.
