just got back from 5 hours of volunteering in the east bay office. That makes something like 30 hours since last Sunday. It was the best political experience of my life. I've done canvassing before. Done phone calling before. These people had their act together. They kept us coming back. They kept us sane and motivated. They kept their heads during the inevitable chaos. The office was run by a bunch of smart, energetic twenty-somethings and packed with people of all ages including a truly inspiring collection of kick-ass senior citizens. You'd see the same people every day. And you'd see new people every day. You'd see more people every day. And everyone left tired. And I think just about everyone left inspired.
Then I come home to vote and I see that moveon has offered $250K for evidence leading to a conviction in vote tampering -- because they are hardcore. Because we are hardcore serious about saving our country.
Before this election, moveon was a great organization I was proud to be a member of -- one of a few. Today, before the results come in, let me just say: I heart moveon.org.
