Unfortunately, Tom Reynolds won his re-election bid in the NY-26 Congressional district. His Republican district (suburban and rural) barely re-elected him, and required a lot of work by his supporters...and his thanks was to show up at the celebration in Buffalo for 15 minutes at most. More below...
His main selling point was that he was a powerful Republican in the Republican-controlled House, and that he "brought home the bacon" for his district (the latter is an issue that is highly debatable). Now that his constituents re-elected him, he is a tainted member of the minority party. Whatever clout he once had will likely disappear now that the Repubs have lost the House, and when ethics investigations begin, he will become even less useful. It is unfortunate that the people in his district decided to send him back, albeit by a small margin, but he's only there for two years.
