This is just a very short diary to say
THANK YOU to all of you kossacks who worked your asses off to win back our country. This was one battle in a protracted war
(normally, I hate violent analogies but what can I say... I really would like to kick in the teeth of some of the genetically and morally challenged asshats who have shoved this country's head up its own ass the last 6+ years), but it was a big one.
I will be the first to admit that I could have done far more to help the sane and fed-up of this country wrestle back control of our collective fate from these criminal, cynical and inept fucktards.
I am consistently amazed by the sheer energy of this place. It honestly radiates from my computer screen (hopefully that's a good thing). There are so many stories in this community, like threads in a tapestry, of dedicated, hard-working and determined individuals committing what little time and energy they have to fighting back. If any of us had the opportunity to hear just a fraction of those stories, we'd be moved to tears.
In this day and age it takes a level of courage to even remain aware in the face of an onslaught of consumer-driven distractions, "leaders" who have no qualms whatsoever about stealing your hard-earned pennies to line the overflowing pockets of their fat-wallet friends, and media who are either cowed bystanders or willing accomplices. It takes far more courage to say: "I have the power to do something about this" or "I have the obligation to do something about this" and then actually go out and DO IT.
So, to all of you who did your part--canvassing, donating money, bringing to light important stories, calling undecided voters, or even running yourself for elected office--a big hat off to you. Um, I don't have a big hat, but you get my point.
THANK YOU. I OWE YOU ONE.
