Hi Kossacks.
I wanted to say thank you for all the support you gave my father, his campaign and me.
If you haven't had a chance to read it yet, please read his statement at www.grassrootsforgrant.com.
I'll share a bit of it here:
It ain't horseshoes!
That old saying that close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, isn't exactly true. While all the fine analysis will come later, there are some things I can say about the campaign now without fear of contradiction:
There were more people interested in this race and politics in Idaho than there has been for a long time. It was great to see how folks warmed up to what was happening as we moved from "no chance at all" to "toss up" over the last sixteen months.
...Thank you. Someday we really will get something done for working families in Idaho.
The list, of course, could go on and on. There really are too many people to thank. But you know who you are. (I should probably even include Speaker Newcomb).
And, finally, there is Bill Sali. I really do wish you the best. This country is facing many challenges. Winning the election only gets you the job. Now it is time for you to show that you are up to the task of representing everyone in the 1st district and show that you can get past that narrow, personal agenda.
And, of course, there is my new favorite bumper sticker: Is it 2008 yet?
