VA-05: Meet Specialist James Wilson (Video)

There are plenty of reasons why we need to get rid of the crowd in Washington, DC. This one is the best reason. Specialist James Wilson and his wife are from Louisiana originally, and lost most of what they owned in Hurrican Katrina.

At the same time, James was fighting to get appropriate treatment for his TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). He was discharged from the Army with a 10% disability, which means he gets next to nothing and no medical care.

Specialist Wilson rightly calls out George Allen, Virgil Goode and Bush for the place he finds himself in.

As he says, "The thing that hurts the most is my pride."

This should be required watching for everyone.

•  Mr. Wilson's medical bills are over $90,000

  He has been denied the very benefits we set aside for our troops that get injured. This is institutional cost savings by sending a piece of paper (discharge) to someone who can't speak and can barely see. This is criminal abuse of a soldier.

  Unfortunately, Al Weed is not likely to win unless the wave becomes a tsunami. But Jim Webb will be replacing Felix, and veterns have no better friend than Webb.

  •  Hard to say;.

    Part of the problem has been the conventional wisdom that Virgil Goode is unbeatable in the 5th. This was taken at face value from the "powers that be" upstream in my opinion.  Mistake all the way around.  In an y case, I'm hearing much more positive signals lately, but it's hard to sort it all out.

  I have a brother named James Wilson and HIS son is also named the same - but he, a 26-year-old healthy male is SAFE at home, just finishing his first year of medical residency with no intention of joining the military.

•  I've only shaken hands

  with two Democratic politicians in my lifetime--Jimmy Carter and Al Weed--and they're the only two I've had both the opportunity and the desire to shake hands with.  Truth be told, they're aren't that many others I'd care to do so with, but I truly believe Weed would be the best congressman in VA, if not the US.

  Our mountains are blue.  It's time our Commonwealth was!  Defeat George Allen!

    are you in?

    Al Weed is the one of the most decent, deserving guys around. He is wicked smart, a military hero and has some great ideas about biofuels.

    I have been a volunteer since December. I can truly say I have given it all I've got.

      I phonebanked and canvassed for Weed last time around. This year, crappy health has prevented me from doing much apart from emailing everyone I know and donating money.  

      Thanks for all your efforts, and keep the faith.  If we can take down Allen, we can take down ole Virgil!
