Not so fast there, bucko!
According to exit polls in the Thursday morning Tennessean newspaper,
[http://hosted.ap.org/...],
some surprising revelations regarding Tennesseans attitudes toward several mentioned candidates were discovered.
The results:
1. Tennesseans reject Senator Bill Frist 44 to 37%
"If Bill Frist decides to run for president in 2008, his first challenge may be convincing homestate voters in Tennessee.
By a significant margin, the voters who know him best said "no" when asked in Tuesday exit polls for The Associated Press if the retiring Senate majority leader "would make a good president."
2. Also on the Presidential 'no fly' list are Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.; Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney; New York Gov. George Pataki; former New York Mayor Rudolph Guiliani, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia.
3 Tennesseans find Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama and Gov Bill Richardson acceptable as candidates. McCain was the only Repub receiving favorable rating.
Some surprising information, indeed. But, that means the road to the White House must come through Tennessee in 2008.
