I am just writing to say that no matter how close I may be considered to the Democratic Party, I will never drink the Kool-Aid.

I am just writing to say that no matter how close I may be considered to the Democratic Party, I will never drink the Kool-Aid.
Here's the hierarchy for me:
Tribe(if I ever find one)>Family>Nation/World>Party.
Religion and friends fit in there somewhere, but, I actually consider friends to be family. I don't think that political parties have the solutions. They are a means to achieve an end under the current system. I might even consider eliminating parties if I was the one in power in government.
But, I take the rather anthropological position the tribe is the biggest, best level of organization. That is unless you can achieve the status of Chiefdom, which would be a remarkable achievement (think Pow-wows and that sort of thing).
But, I am always looking for better ideas; And, if they happen to come from a Republican, we should embrace them for our collective future. If you think about it political parties are a rather abstract configuration. A tribe provides something that is concrete.
