Time to Investigate

Fri Nov 10, 2006 at 10:15:24 PM PDT

For the past six years I have been sick of reading about Bush, Cheney, Haliburton, and all the other crooks getting away with plundering and pillaging American Dreams!  Now it's time to investigate them, and punish those who abused power and subjected us.
I want to see those who abused power and abused us, the American people, for the sake of big business, to pay for their crimes.  Whether it is undermining our soldiers with inadequate armor, stripping our environment, or corrupting the morals of our country, and neglecting our people in times of heavy hardship, such as Hurricane Katrina; people who are guilty of crimes must pay for it, and suffer themselves.  If  this new elected, balance of power fails to execute their jurisdiction, then we must hold them accountable.  We must let them know that we will not tolerate anymore bullshit!  It's time for America to get serious.  Otherwise, we shall be forced to VOTE OUT all encumbents next election.  We must resonate a new voice, a new attitude that simply promises accountabilty.

  •  Bush is a lame duck (0+ / 0-)

He's irrelevant and so is Cheney. We should investigate matters if it helps to make future policy. But the Democrats prime concern should be putting forth a positive agenda, like increasing minimum wage and implementating a new energy policy.

If the Democrats go down the impeachment road, the Republicans will control all branches of government again in 2009.

We didn't come this far for nothing.

  •  Accountability (0+ / 0-)

If laws were broken, people should be held accountable.  Are we supposed to ignore high crimes just because they were done by someone with influence?

Sweeping all this under the rug just makes it acceptable.  If we had had real investigations into Iran-Contra, etc. maybe we wouldn't be haunted by the same criminals all over again.

The only people who are happy with their health insurance plan, haven't used it yet.
