OK. We got the story out to the media about the falseflag robocalls. Despite this, most people in those districts successfully targeted by the NRCC
Falseflag robocalls still don't know about the $250, 000 reward and that this is serious, not slimy politics business as usual.
So WE must educate them better. I suggest billboards would work better in rural red counties where few targeted voters blog or read much, and don't even attend to TV closely.
I've talked with enough of them in canvassing Charlie Browns very red county to understand theres a huge knowledge gap between us bloggers, googlers and carefull news consumers and the red county voters that we must reach to be ready to fight back in 2008 effectively.
TV did a half-assed job of this education because they clearly have not really convinced Red America that they were victims of Republican voter suppression with these calls, and that this is illegal, and that they can fight back by reporting their evidence to Move On.
The 3 things that make these illegal voter suppression is:
1. It was illegal because they are falseflag: "hi, I'm calling with information about Charlie Brown,..." suggests to a casual listener that Charlie Brown sent it.
2. Then it appears that it is "Charlie Brown " who harasses them with repeated auto-redial calls if they hang up.
3. The calls can come at an hour day or night up to 2AM. Clearly "Charlie Brown" doesn't care if they get enough sleep.
We who read, decent newspapers, blogs, can google, etc think everyone knows as much as we do. Try talking to them. You'll see: they think it's just politics as usual. Or they say, Well I had 10 times as many calls from Charlie Brown, so he's an asshole...
They are a bit slow. So:
Let's get billboards up in these 14 Red districts listed below where our candidate was successfully targeted by the NRCC.
The billboard should let every non-blog reader driving a truck through know why what just happened was not just typical slimy politics, as many of them still think. I want them to be mad as hell. I want them to call Move-On and yell:
I WAN'T MY VOTE BACK!
It should tell them this is illegal voter suppression and there is a $250,000 reward being offered by Move-On for the evidence.
Heres The NRCC FEC filing for spending these amounts with Conquest

Probably because of the well-known factor, even the unsophisticated could tell it was bullshit. Do you know?
So what do billboards cost? About $210 a month in rural districts like Charlie Brown's (well, his future district: he SHOULD run again in the special election after Doolittle is convicted in the Abramoff lobbying.)
And who might pay for them? Lets ask The League of Women Voters...MoveOn...The ACLU...George Soros...any other ideas?
