Slavery, Sure, sounds great.
Today at the Wharton School a conference on trading in Africa was held by the World Trade Organization.
http://www.gatt.org/... One speaker , Hanniford Schmidt suggested allowing corporations to own their workers. His justification for this was that all kinds of commodities are traded and should be extended to workers as a sort of private stewardry program and was just an extension of free market theory.
Me email to him:
Mr. Schmidt,
I read with great interest your comments on trading humans. Unless you were auditioning to be a standup comic , I have a couple of suggestions.
1. Workers , unite and buy and sell corporate executives. This would save a lot of money on exhorbitant salaries. Of course if these executives contracted a bit of gonorrhea while on one of their expenseive junkets, they would then need to be shot, as that would be considerably cheaper than treating the infection.
2. Economists and other paid consultants for the World Trade Organization , GATT, etc. should naturally be included in your wonderful plan of trading in humans. Their pay should be on a par with the average worker in a factory supplying Walmart in Indonesia. They should also receive the same health benefits and sick leave compensation.
If these plans don't appeal to you, perhaps you should try Googling "Buchenwald". This might give you an insight into an even more "ultimate solution" to human labor.
Rest Easy,
