ON CSPAN3 - CONRAD CONTINUED - DAY 3

Thu Nov 16, 2006 at 07:11:39 AM PDT

Edrie can't post but hopefully will jump in here to lead us through another session with Kent Conrad and his gang of good guys in the Senate.

Ongoing now on CSpan2 is day three of discussions on Conrad's amenment to the Ag Bill asking for monies to be used as relief funding for ranchers and farmers in drought stricken North Dakota.

Short diary, I know, but you need to hear what is going on more than you need to read another paragraph.

  •  Keep the Vigil (3+ / 0-)

Frist was just speaking on the topic, but I was busy trying (my first) to post this diary so missed what he said.  Conrad was not on the floor yet, and now Lugar is addressing another issue.

Stay alert though, Kent (Superman) Conrad will make his appearance.

  •  thanks for posting (0+ / 0-)

I can't get to a cspan3 feed right now so I would really appreciate if someone can give running commentary on exactly what's happening
    Thanks

sometime later today, but would not commit to a specific time.  I think they said they would after they covered the US/India issue.  (I could be wrong.)

Maybe consider deleting this for now, keep an eye on the proceedings, and repost when Conrad is allowed to bring it up.

I really hope that they are not "playing" him again like they did yesterday.

    •  Biden on India right now - stay tuned (0+ / 0-)

I think one can only post one diary per day.  Edrie wrote that since she posted yesterday, she was unable to post until after noon today.  Wrote and told her she was needed as she is so good at keeping us informed.

Biden is speaking now on a foreign relations bill.  My, my, they do go on.

I did not know that.  Thanks.  It certainly makes the sum more measly if it is to be shared, doesn't it?

    •  Who Knew? (0+ / 0-)

Who knew North Dakota had such impressive senators?  Gorgan is a very fine and convincing speaker.

Too bad there are only about 25 people in the whole state or they would have a lot more influence.

This is bound to scroll off soon, and sure hope someone else picks it back up when the Conrad action begins.

Meanwhile, we can all enjoy Macaca Allen...

    •  A hug for edrie (0+ / 0-)

Good morning.  Glad you're back to guide us through the Senate's business.

Neophyte that I am, I'm confused as to which CSPAN channel is the one to watch for Conrad's appearance.  Please straighten me out.

      •  oops... late answer ... but here is the guide.. (0+ / 0-)

cspan is the house of reps and cspan2 is the senate.

when the senate or house are not in session or on delays, frequently they switch to important committee meetings.  evenings they play news conferences, political speeches - all sides, book reviews of things political and in the early am - there is a great political show that has guests and callers WITHOUT biased commentators-  they do take callers on both a "dem" line and a "repub" line and alternate callers... don't comment on them but will let the guests do so.

  •  Wasn't There a Link (0+ / 0-)

...to CSPAN2 in edrie's diary yesterday?  I can't find that diary.  Does anyone have the link handy?

  •  What Just Happened In the Senate? (0+ / 0-)

Confusion reigns.  I was expecting to see Conrad.  Instead, they've all trooped off to the Old Senate building.  I don't understand all I know about this.

Methinks this blog might be better off without neophytes like me.
