A few facts that I have learned and some of you may already know, I apologize in advance if you know all of this, but I am mad. There are military forces right now that are being used as guinea pigs. There are those that are using the equipment that the United States of America and all it's glory want destroyed while outfitting our troops with little more than street equipped hummers. We have police equipment that is better than what our most honored troops are using. We have cities and large suburban areas with more equipment to detect mines than our own beloved troops in Iraq. We have over 2500 dead and over 18,000 wounded and do you think that if one were responsible that they could sleep a good nights sleep??? How do they sleep at night?
UPDATE: Barry's second interview with Stuart O'Neill for his website "Stuart O'Neill's Political Interviews" is now up as is the Jack Carter for Nevada Senate Interview.

I'm crying over the people who have turned to the military as a source of employment and betterment and knowing that they are potentially putting their lives at risk for our country. There are folks that are joining for a sense of belonging, structure and to genuinely help their country. To me it doesn't matter what their reasons are or were, the fact that they signed up and agreed to potential hardship is enough for me. My daughter was recruited and could have been there. The sore point for me that absolutely makes me weep, is that they are not prepared, not equipped adequately and are using our hummers as mine detectors rather than buying the proper equipment to ensure no other loss of life. It's despicable! It's un-honorable, this isn't an anti-military feeling I feel, it's a gut wrenching hurt I feel for those that have died, just plain died for our country - obeying commands, putting themselves in harms way to do what they are asked to do. These souls deserve a better reason for dying. Their deaths are by no means minimized, but instead they have been dishonored by the monetary bottom line that this administration has enacted.
I can't stop crying every time I think of what our troops have gone thru and in most cases without complaint, finding the resources to work around the problems they face. How on earth can we sit by and watch while they suffer needlessly? How can we put them in harms way for a cause that hasn't been thought out ahead of time? How can this administration sleep at night? I tell my husband he has to stop this, and he says he is trying.
I'm more than appalled, I'm sickened by the thought that some of our best and brightest are being wasted and sacrificed for so little.
We cannot let this go on, we MUST stop this horrible destruction as soon as humanly possible. This is where you come in, we need to talk to others, talk to our friends, our family, our acquaintances, our co-workers - any one that will listen that if we don't make a difference now, it's going to be too late. How many more have to die before we act???!!! Please I exhort you, please we need to make the changes necessary to save our people in Iraq and everywhere from those that could potentially put our troops in harms way unnecessarily.
This is my personal diary and is not vetted thru the campaign. Thank you for taking the time to read this diary, it is very much appreciated.
