Connecticut citizens as well as many others across America are saying they don't want any more 'polarizing' politics? Elect Joe and it'll be Bi-Partisanship all the way!
Well so much for what the people want. And so much for Joes' words. What they actually got is a whole nother' story.
Joe Lieberman, already, has proven to be the epitomy of a polarizing and lying policician. The kind we all had enough of. Remember?
Throwing around his promised 'Seniority power' during the campaign he said to the Hartford Courant on November 1, 2006:
.."I'll be in a position to work to put together a consensus to improve what we're doing and put pressure on the Iraqis." This stands in stark contrast to comments from Lieberman just a week ago."
But on Joes' first day of liberation at a hearing on Iraq in the Senates' Armed Services Committee, his very first questions are not about helping the situation in Iraq, not about his deep concerns for the troops welfare or of the welfare of the Iraqi people. His goal was to put pressure, publicly, on the Democrats.
Joe Lieberman seemed to aim at Senator Levin especially, the future chairman of that committee on record as pushing for the beginnings of re-deployment within 4-6 months. But Joe had a visible list (remember his debate threat of making a list), mentioning every other Senators' idea of course correction: Reed, Biden, Kerry, Feingold and Hagel. With what seemed a pre-planned set-up with Abizaid, Lieberman and Abizaid systematically and pointedly shot each of their ideas down.
Thankfully Warner who also advocated 'change', shut him down (and got the 'Lieberman smirk' back), when Joe tried to continue ranting beyond his time.
Again.
No clock should ever silence The Joe!
Instead of focusing on Iraq, this evil little troll chose the vindictive-self-serving route by going straight for the jugulars of those who sought to get off the old 'stay the course' route.
But back to Iraq, for its' Joes' votes that count in the end, isn't it? And since we have him back in a more powerful vote casting tie-breaking mode, I fear for the troops, the Iraqi people, and my kids future.
REMEMBER ALWAYS! The Dem Senate leadership took the low road to specifically get Joe Lieberman back into office at the cost of official 50-49 control of the Senate.
I and others repeatedly commented on how the weakness and timidity of the old DLC controlled Democratic Party diminished the partys effects, lost numerous elections, turned away new members and drove out old members. They drove the party into an opposition-less void.
Dean didn't do that.
And the grass roos didn't do that.
More recently, I warned that if we weren't careful they would sneak back in and steal the spoils of the peoples hard earned victories for themselves..
They did. Other than Pelosi, the DLC gang now runs the Congressional show.
So take your medication. Everyone back to their rooms. And be quiet now!
The DLC has everything under control.
There will be no opposition.
There will be no change!
The Partys' over.
yay...
