o Real, easy, 5 minute personal efforts to actually do something practical to investigate Laura Ingraham, besides your encouragement to Leahy, are below.
o 1) Email the FCC
http://www.fcc.gov/... (15 seconds to google the address, leaving leisurely 4 mins. 45 secs. to cut and paste what others have already templated on the blogs about Ingraham)
o 2) FEC complaint - send a real letter (10 minutes to print and drop it at a mailbox someday
http://www.fcc.gov/... which looks hard, but go to
http://www.opensecrets.org/... "The complaint must be made in writing, and sent to the Office the General Counsel, Federal Election Commission, 999 E Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20463." It looks a lot easier
o 3) Too busy to call your local station and complain? Dissentenator called, and reported back to blog on 11/7 and gave the person's name he talked to. Now this is a patriot.
o 4) Litigatormom emailed Ingraham's producers. People reported to blog the Ingraham show's email address. Who used it? Heartland liberal did, and provided finely written text as a template for others. Others, like arcana and peace voter, tried to call into her show and reported info to the blog.
o 5) Want to file a complaint against her at the bar, to investigate her license? It's all set for you to review, cut and paste and mail (12 minutes?) Hours of work already done, so that you can do something quickly, effeciently, affectively:
http://www.dailykos.com/... It's been online here since 11/10/07 (Elwood Dowd cited some criminal statutes for people to use in their complaints. JCPOK did some research and found some specific federal statutes that might apply, though they didn't work on this complaint form)

o My rant follows:
o Leahy announced he'll investigate Laura Ingraham. We can all be happy someone is FINALLY doing something! There's 1000's of issues, but this one generated substantial dailykos attention -
o 4400+votes finally, hundreds of comments (see:
http://www.dailykos.com/...) But me, I hate to see other people do my work. Who DID anything? We had the information, we had the means but only a few actually worked at change by taking an extra couple minutes. Now you applaud because someone else is doing it. You sure as hell should be happy the Democrats are in office, maybe the Democrats know the words "follow up". True enough Ingraham pissed off the wrong person, but apparently it wasn't a dailykos READER. Or were you really pissed off but too busy to piss?
o You will say "that's not fair, I'm busy". Too busy to cut and paste a bar complaint to get her investigated by the bar (12 minutes). Various people took time to suggest this. There's a whole cut and pastable complaint no one here used, I bet.

A few dailykos readers did do things and then blogged back to show you how. Of course, it's not the biggest event of the day, but damn, if you're not too busy to sit at your screen, read it, listen to the audio, then vote that somebody (else) should investigate Ingraham, you can't take another 3-12 minutes? (Time depends on your choice of actions) All told about 800+ people found time to make comments...taking the same amount of time as actually sending a complaint. Yep, somebody else should do the work. We want someone else to do it and we think if we just vote then we've done all we can. If you want something done DO MORE THAN VOTE everyday (or at least once in awhile). " Let somebody else do the work, but let's all be able to vote on what they do." Ahh, liberals. This is why we've been losing the wars for the hearts and minds of America, even though Americans in their heart of hearts agree with most everything written on this site. Good luck, good reading.
