Rick Santorum* (R) 1,581,512 41.3%

Join me below to give Senator Rick "the dick" Santorum the proper send-off he so richly deserves!

Other PA races to watch are PA-04, PA-06, PA-07, PA-08, and PA-10.
oysterface is live blogging them.

I'll also be reporting results for PA-Gov as well as longshot house races in PA-03 and PA-09. You can find the full Pennsylvania results here. Here's a link back to the master live blogging diary. To see results of all races, check out jotter's results aggregator.

PA-GOV - 95.78% reporting
Ed Rendell* (D) 2,320,768 60.3%
Lynn Swann (R) 1,528,648 39.7%
PA-03
Steven Porter (D) 81,709 42.1%
Phil English* (R) 104,029 53.6%
PA-09
Tony Barr (D) 76,222 40%
Bill Shuster* (R) 115,169 60%

Results are as of 2:46 AM EST.

UPDATE: THE RACES HAVE BEEN CALLED FOR CASEY AND RENDELL

Benchmarks:
1. Expect both Casey and Rendell to prevail by 10+ points.
2. PA-03 and PA-09 and deep red districts considered to be 'safe republican.' For example in PA-09 Shuster captured nearly 70% of the vote in '04. Look for it to be significantly closer this time.

Meeting both of these benchmarks would support the idea that a democratic wave is forming.

Update: Check and check. The wave is active
