Seven more of the 10 counties making up North Carolina's 8th District launch into machine recounts today in what they tell me is the closest remaining Congressional race in the nation.
While we do clearly know that a majority of folks in this country prefer a new direction, and a majority of the counties in my district do too, we do not yet know if every, single, last vote has been counted and won't without continuing this process called Democracy.
I understand Congressman Hayes and his supporters want this seat, but they are going to have to learn a little patience as the democratic process bears itself out. I'm anxious myself to get to work taking our Country back, but I am focusing my energy on making sure that every voter is heard, regardless of whether I think they are my supporter or not. I've been very disappointed that my opponent has tried to suppress votes. I know what he apparently doesn't, that democracy is so much more important than any one election.
All the more reason I continue to fight for my District, and every single voter to be heard. Your prayers and support both here and at BlueNC mean so much, as does your on-going financial support for the recount and campaign debt. I greatly appreciate it as always. You've been by my side all along.
Moving forward, you know where I stand, and you'll be hearing where my opponent stands in the coming days. Now I want to hear where you stand. I'm just listening to voters today, as I have throughout my campaign.
What do you say? Do we deserve Democracy or something just shy of it?
