This diary is due entirely to Delaware Dem's Roll Call (the 2nd edition). Been fun to see the parade of folks but it led to me to a thought-'OK, these are who we are as individuals and yearly Kos is what we look like as a group but what do we look like as local organizations?' Kid Oakland leads the ministry of local action and I write the once in a while Nuts n Bolts but we're all working somewhere right?
For better or worse, the Dem party is made up of thousand of town and county committees and we should bet to know them better. These are the groups Howard Dean is basing the future of the party on so what's out there? These are the local committees that recruit candidates, hold fundraisers, hopefully opereate Voter ID and GOTV efforts. They are where we go to phonebank.
Most towns and counties have web sites so let's do a little show and tell. And of course, if you think this has value, hit the R button, not because I'm a genius or the king of prose but just so others get a chance to share. That's what community is all about.
