Oliver "Plead the 5th-FOX NEWS" North

Sat Nov 25, 2006 at 02:25:29 AM PDT

So the sad truth is that FOX "Propaganda Brainwashing Machine" News employs pardoned criminals like Oliver  "Illegal Gun Runner to Iran for Hostages" North. North will continue to misrepresent Truth to manipulate the American public by *using continued "Falsehood Associations"* in order to demon-ize anything Democrat or "Open To New Ideas" Liberal.
On the FOX "Avoid the Truth At All Costs"News site yesterday, former Colonel Ollie Oliver "Continue To Mis-Represent The Truth" North criticizing a Draft, refers to John Kerry as the "Study or Get Stuck in Iraq" Kerry.

Even though anyone who has heard his full speech or seen the written version KNOWS Kerry was referring to Bush and not the troops.
Why perpetuate this lie and continue to further insult the troops and lower their moral with a fabricated insult?

True to deceptive form, Ollie "Apologist for the Right Wing Stooge" North in reference to Congressman   Rengal reintroducing his Bill calling for a military Draft, brings up how Kerry in the 2004 election suggested  that Bush would bring back the draft.  He writes:

"Though no Republican has advocated such a measure, the draft idea has created a lot of hot air on television and talk radio outlets, which is what its proponents want in order to further depress support for the war in Iraq."

What Ollie "Refuse to the Answer the Question" North fails to mention is that FOX and other Right Wing "Just Keep Repeating the Propaganda Till They Think it's The Truth" Networks are the ones spewing out all the hot air!

Ollie "Twist the Facts and Distort the Truth" North further interprets Congressman Rengal's proposal for a draft by saying:

"He would exempt only those who have health problems or "reasons of conscience." And since the entire liberal establishment is against the war in Iraq, one can only conclude that all registered Democrats would be exempted from service."

Here Ollie "Fabricate Completely Irrational Conclusions" North would have us believe that Democrats would be exempt from a draft! It gets worse. Ollie "Blame Others for What He is Doing Himself" North then states in the very next sentence, " Rangel's "reasoning" is directly contradicted by reality..."!!

I suppose thinking that Dems can be  exempt from a Draft is reasoned thinking at FAUX  "We Will Report You and Then Decide" News?  Although the current military does seem to represent a full spectrum of upper and lower income Americans, Ollie "Deny What We've Already Done And Blame Democrats For It" North implies that a draft would invariably lower the standards of enlistment.  He concludes by saying:

"Reinstating the draft would inevitably require that these standards be lowered. We've made that mistake before. In the late 1960's President Lyndon Johnson implemented what he called "Project One Hundred Thousand," — a program that forced the military to accept draftees who would otherwise have been rejected.   That program was a disaster, and a modern draft would be as well."

Apparently Fox "Always Unfair and Unbalanced" News is a good match with Ollie "Re-write History and Deny the Facts" North.
So it comes as no surprise that Ollie "Deny the Brutal Truth" North would leave out of his article the one reason that may support a draft: the strain on US Troops.  As General Conway, the top Marine Commander in Iraq states:

"There is stress on the individual Marines that is increasing, and there is stress on the institution to do what we are required to do, pretty much by law, for the nation."

There you have it. While Fox "Distort Everything to Prove a Point" News publishes blatant propaganda, we are undermining our own military because we don't have enough troops to relieve our own soldiers as "required by law!"
Have we also forgotten that we have thousands of our National Guardsmen in Iraq or Afghanistan who are supposed to be here on American soil to defend our nation? Family lives of service men and women are being wrecked with incompetent VA assistance when they return because Right Wing "Short Sighted Self Serving" Republicans remain in Denial of the traumas of war.... just as they remain in Denial of the escalating Civil War in Iraq.

Does anybody see where I left my democracy? It was here just a few years ago... I swear!

  •  Treason is best hidden behind the flag (5+ / 0-)

Ollie and the whole "Don't release our hostages while Carter is in office," gang (including Gates, our newly appointed Sec Def) who secretly negotiated with a foreign enemy for political and financial gain, are expert at that.  Who but these "superpatriots" could have so weakened our military to the point that fifth-rate powers like Syria, Iran, and North Korea have no fear of us at all?  We have never been in greater peril as a nation.  The debt these abysmal idiots (or knowing traitors?) have racked up has put our economic well being so much in the hands of our enemies that one remark about it today from a Chinese official sent the dollar tumbling.  I submit that actions (to divest) which they or any  other large debt holder can take at any time of their choosing, will cause a panic with the potential to make the dollar worthless.  Then how can we repair the damage done to our severly overused, overstrained, underequipped and nearly broken military?  And knowing how badly reservists and guardsmen are being currently treated, is it any wonder we can't meet recruiting goals?  How long will it be before the memory of this debacle fades enough to make enlistment a sane, intelligent choice?  An editorial suggestion:  a little emphasis goes a long way.  Too much and it becomes meaningless.

All of the epithets added to the names Fox News and Ollie North make the post hard to read.  I started skipping over them to make better sense of the story.  Are you trying to give news or make a joke?
Also, please note that Charles Rangel is a member of the House of Representatives, not the Senate.
One last point on Oliver North's oversights:  He says a draft would lower standards for entry.  Hasn't the military already done that? It is accepting lower scores and overlooking criminal records in order to meet recruiting goals.  It has also increased the age range so that new recruits can be as old as 42.

lose the House and the Senate, his arch nemesis that got him court martialed after his Congressional testimony during Iran-Contra Hearings just got re-elected as President of Nicaraugua President Daniel Ortega   even after he went down there and campaigned against him  rofl  even Marines don't always win all their battles and Ollie is racking up quite a loosing streak right now

all he needs is for Faux News to fire him

  •  I asked a journalism classmate (0+ / 0-)

what he thought of "Ollie" North. He said, "Well, he seems like a nice old guy." He had no opinion, beyond that- and it never occurred to him to look. I, OTOH, appear to be not just a different generation from my fellow students, but a different ilk. I watched the entire Iran/Contra hearings (unemployed as I was at the time) and tried to explain it to anyone within earshot. In fact, the only time I was called away was when the cat had trouble birthing and the first kitten got stuck. As he began to swell, we realized he was coming out balls first. Now I don't usually like to get so graphic on a public forum, but perhaps I've finally found a place where people would understand and care. Anyway, he finally popped out, and we named him Ollie.

made it more readable.  Not my best work, but I just could not believe the audacity of this guy!
