I have been looking for a way to encapsulate what the Republican right really means these days. A frame, if you will. Then I hit on it. "A culture of lies"...
More on the flip...
The lies about WMD that led to the invasion of Iraq...
The lie about how our presence in the Middle East is to spread democracy...
The lies about how the United States does not condone torture, and yet we have "Extraordinary Rendition" where prisoners are subjected to exactly that...
The lies that were told in the smear-jobs that appeared before the election (or before nearly every election these days - the Republicans go negative virtually all every time, and the smear jobs are always vicious)...
The lie that that is the very essence of the "Healthy Forest's Initiative" when you consider the name...
The lie that Social Security is in grave danger, and that private accounts are needed to save it...
The lies that were told in order to pass the tax cuts for the wealthy...
The lie that Democrats are in some way unpatriotic...
The lie that medical malpractice suits are responsible for the high cost of health care in this country...
The lie that we are now somehow safer than we were after 9/11...
The lies that are being told in order to get these nutjobs confirmed to Federal judgeships...
I could go on and on - it is an effortless task in that virtually every policy that the Bush administration has proposed is based upon a lie.
