Today, I heard the word never for the first time. Never is a word I never heard. More importantly, never is a word I never understood...until today. I finally understand the word never.
As a kid asking for another M&M, I might have heard the word "later" or as a young adult asking for a 10 percent raise I might have heard the word "someday". Thankfully, up until today, I had never heard the word never. As an American, it is a concept I never wanted to hear nor understand. Until today. Today, I heard never for the first time.

From Dr. Dean:
Never as long as they control our government, never as long as they can execute the same incompetent, dishonest and destructive government without paying a price at the ballot box."
Never will there be peace in Iraq. Never will there be affordable healthcare. Never will there be an adequate education for all children. Never will there be an adequate response to a terrorist attack. Never will there be a secure retirement for me or for you. Never will all be equal. Never will we lead our lives as we choose to lead our lives.
Until. Until we understand the word never. Once we understand, never becomes a call to action. Never becomes a call to arms. Never joins us together. Never is our hope. Never is our rallying cry. Never is a word none of us understand, until, we are made to understand it. Until today, we thought we never would.
