Daily Kos

Have you seen this, yet???

Sun Nov 05, 2006 at 08:41:36 AM PDT

If you haven't seen this yet, you should.  It's from the NY Times, a paper I don't care to read, but this is unbelievable.

Regardless of one's view of the NYT or the war in Iraq, this is required viewing: Sorry, I don't know how to embed the link, but you shouldn't miss it.  http://www.nytimes.com/...

It's also here at BAG Newsnotes:  http://www.bagnewsnotes.com/

That's all I got....

  •  what is it? These are my least fav diaries (10+ / 0-)

*Have you seen THIS yet?  with no indication of what it is about, where the link will bring us to? How would we even know if we have seen it before clicking the link if you haven't told us what "it" is that we are clicking. It looks like a movie after the first click. But a movie of what? Please, put some meat in this diary and spare me the surprise. Our time is precious these days, as we are doing about 12 things at once to win this Tuesday. THanks.

    It's Obamazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

which, granted, is against the rules.

The video and subject matter (that the diarist brought to our attention) are excellent.

I didn't know people were so sensitive. Just because you don't like the diary doesn't mean you have to trash it. BAG News is an excellent website so why not just watch the freakin' video.

I apologize for not making clearer that the video link was a NY Times report about a soldier's life in Iraq.

As the title suggested, maybe I wanted people to watch, as I did, with knowing as little as possible about what they were going to see.

I also think that once it has been watched, the footage speaks for itself. This is an up-close and often unseen view of the war in Iraq. I expected a little more patience or open-mindedness, but maybe a lot of us are a little on edge with the vote on 2 days away.

to something more poignant. "A moment in time with a sniper" or something.

You do need to add some substance under the "jump."

This is one of those subjects that could easily be a highly recommended diary.

    •  Just take the essence of your comment here (0+ / 0-)

and put it into the diary.

      That's all.

Folks can understand that, and accept it -- as it is, it is a little stark and could anger folks who are time-tight with the rush to do everything they can to help maximize the Nov 7 results.

But both Bumblebums and Bronte17 were right -- excellent videos to bring to the attention of folks here.

      Both of them.

...I don't know if many caught the fact that there are two -- "the medic" as well as "the sniper" -- so that should be mentioned as well.

Thanks for posting it, tho.  Don't get bent out of shape by those who are angry or harried; they are technically correct.  You do point to good content.

As I said above, just put the essence of the comment I'm replying to in the diary itself, and mention there are two videos to view.

      Thanks.
