I want my, I want my, I want my C-n-J

Jeers to waiting for the kiddie pool to open, and to my poor, sore refresh finger this morning. I actually managed to comment in a few diaries, read all of DarkSyde's Science Friday story and figure out plf515's gerrymander graphs while I was waiting. And the words The 80% Solution are now burned into my retinas. As is John Yarmuth's smile. And...

Oh the heck with it. I'm posting my own Cheers and Jeers here and getting back to work.

Update: This is NOT Cheers and Jeers or a sanctioned substitute. It's just my diary.  Posting here won't get you any special mojo or the attention of the kool kidz.

Jeers to getting flummoxed by the new editing system, which apparently discriminates against any previous knowledge of actual HTML. At least I know I'm in good company.

Cheers to people on the bus. Nearly every day I have someone I enjoy talking to that I've met on my morning or evening commute. And while it's true that I haven't been reading as much, I also haven't had to listen to NPR still valiantly trying to defend the relevance of anything out of Bush's mouth.

Jeers to the aforementioned NPR. I'm almost ready to switch to the morning "shout 'em awake" jocks.

mandoboy_sqCheers to my favorite article of clothing, the merino hoodie my wife knitted for me several years ago (see photo, ignore stringed prop). It was good to have something nice and warm to wear now that we're nearly back to "normal" temperatures for this time of year.

Cheers to my mandolin, another present from my wife. I'm proof that you don't need talent to enjoy making music. I'm not saying anyone else will enjoy it of course...

Cheers to the recently-named Contributing Editors — BarbinMD, Devilstower, Kagro X, and MissLaura — and Fellows — Hunter, Mcjoan and SusanG. I'm in awe of the amazing amount of talent on this site. I was disappointed however to see no mention of a Snarkmeister Emeritus position created. I wonder sometimes if Kos really appreciates the value of C&J on this site. Which is, um... what was it again, Bill?

But seriously, cheers to all the mini-diaries posted daily in C&J. Poems, humor, personal interest, history, culture and pooties... it's like a daily liberal Reader's Digest. Now if I could just figure out how to read it in the bathroom.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
