The ribbons are GONE!!!!!
In the past 3 years there has been a prolific rise in the number of vehicles on the road bearing magnetic ribbons in support of our troops. But lately, they have been disappearing...
It may be just anecdotal evidence, or perhaps its just an observation. Perhaps its just me. But Id like to know if anyone else has noticed the phenomenon of the disappearing ribbon. In the last month, since the election, the "Support the Troops" magnetic ribbons have disappeard off of cars and trucks in the greater Baltimore area. Ive been trying to pay attention to the number of ribbons lately and frankly, I just have not seen any. None.
Today on my regular rounds of dropping kids at school, shopping and traveling back home, I did not see ONE ribbon! In the past 3 years, I would estimate that between 60-80% of the cars around here (suburban Baltimore) had ribbons proclaiming support for troops in some fashion or another.
I have a ribbon on my van. It reads "Just Pretend It's All OK." Its the only ribbon I have seen lately.
If anyone else has noticed this phenomenon, I would love to hear about it. It seems to me that there is a direct correlation between the last election and the need to display one's "patriotism" outwardly in the form of some silly "I support troops" slogan-filled ribbon.
