I’ve been pretty busy lately- and in the clutter of edit/revise/100c100m100y100k/review/marketing input/kiss wife/shut office door/miss wife/come to her late night; but she’s sleeping/up @5/revise/”where the hell is my money?”/repeat, I really haven’t thought of a single worthy or relevant thing to put down on paper. However, it seems that beginning Saturday at about 4AM, I’ll have seven days and six nights to do things that-well-…that life is supposed to be “all about.”
I thought I’d just drop all of you this little note and wish all of you all of the best this holiday. Plus, I would like to use my retroactive coupon to wish all of my Jewish brothers and sisters a belated happy Chanukah.
Whatever your faith or individual beliefs thereof, please take at least a moment to immerse yourself in some sort of general comfort. From my experience here at Daily Kos, it is clear that the vast majority of you deserve a fair measure of figgy pudding all to yourself for once.
Whatever it is that you have planned, please take a moment to relish in the fact that you are loved by at least one person out here in the great big world. Next, take a moment to make the ones you love feel the love that you know is out there.
I’ll leave you with this:
The true beloveds of this world are in their lover's eyes lilacs opening, ship lights, school bells, a landscape, remembered conversations, friends, a child's Sunday, lost voices, one's favorite suit, autumn and all seasons, memory, yes, it being the earth and water of existence, memory.
Truman Capote
Other Voices, Other Rooms, 1948
Have a great holiday. I’ll catch you on the other side. Lots of great things coming up for us, me thinks. Great things indeed…
Love,
Andrew
