Why is it that now that the Patriot Act is on the block the White House is releasing all this information that we have all of these terror reports coming? As I have said many times before we are starting to get that little boy that cried wolf syndrome. The Bush administration has put out so many reports, audio and video tapes, that it's going to get harder and harder to know if they are truly authentic. Read on>>>
The most recent is a report put out saying that on average one in every 100 reports of suspicious content is a valid report.
Pentagon officials began reviewing how CIFA managed what are known as Talon reports after revelations that the agency kept in its database information on Americans who were carrying out peaceful demonstrations against the war in Iraq at military bases and recruiting offices.
That should be good news for that older lady and that 9-year-old that got bit and pepper sprayed now they are in the terrorist database. I am getting confused is Bush like Hitler, or Nixon? Nixon was known for having a database on antiwar protestors.
The article in the
Washington Post goes on to say,
The Talon system encourages civilians and military personnel to report on activities they consider suspicious. Reports that are determined not to represent a security threat are supposed to be purged from the database within 90 days, but some information on protesters and other innocent Americans has been kept for more than a year. Defense officials declined to say how many Talon reports have been placed in the CIFA database, known as Cornerstone, or the number of improperly kept reports identified so far in the ongoing review.
In the 60s and 70s the Pentagons surveillance of antiwar protestors raised cause for congress to enact rules and laws against such activity. But as we can see that with Bush's excuse for doing everything, they have started the practice again.
Now with the (P)Resident saying that we need to stop yelling about the wiretapping of US citizens, and let them do their job, and that they need to pass the provisions to the Patriot Act, with the addition of the anti-protesting amendment so that they have all the tools they need to stop the citizens. Oops I meant the terrorist. Yes in the name of safety we should give up or right to privacy and not worry that the most innocent conversation like "Hey Sue we need to wack that bush out of the driveway." will get your house raided. And are you really that secure that what you send in an e-mail won't get you busted. For example: Mom sends the gramma a picture of little Billy in the tub and his we-we is in sight. Under the legislation on pornography the administration is trying to get pushed through mom and gramma, have some explaining to do.
So now that Bush has his ducks in a row with the confirmation of Judge Alito to the High Court, I think we will see in the next three years things done that we only could have dreamed in our worst nightmares.
