So, how does it feel to shoot somebody, Dick?

I'm struck by the irony.  Here's a man who obtained several deferments from military service.  The same guy who saw a need for America's military involvement in the Middle East.  The same guy who manipulated events behind the scenes so that our government thought it necessary to go to war.  The same guy who, after pulling the trigger and spraying his friend with lead, called it the 'worst day of his life.'

The men and women overseas are fighting for our freedoms.  They shoot people every day because they think it's the right thing to do.  Every day, for them, must be pretty bad.  The worst days are when they see their companions and fighting buddies die from an improvised explosive device, or from a bullet fired by an insurgent.  They can tell you what it feels like to shoot somebody.  It feels awful.  And it feels even worse when you realize there's no point to it.

And Cheney's worst day is accidently wounding his friend while on a quail shoot.  Will this change your perspective on death, Dick?  Somehow I don't think so.

  Five-Deferment Dick gets to find out what he's putting America's warriors through every single day.  

  One can hope it bugs his conscience.  Before or after pigs fly.

  Yes, so many of our young military people have trouble for the rest of their lives trying to deal with the fact that they have killed.

  Much is said about them seeing people killed, or being injured themselves, but actually killing someone when it goes against who you are inside and everything you have been taught your entire life is very very difficult to live with.
