Rotton from the inside

I thought this article was very interesting. The Repugs far from being friends are truly a big tent. Lions and Zebras. And there is every indication that they can be made to eat each other. From the east texas review whatever that is.

small excerpt below.

"Anti-voucher Republicans targeted
Five House Republican incumbents who voted against school choice find themselves challenged this year by well funded conservative opponents. Republican philanthropist James Leininger, through the Texas Republican Legislative Campaign Committee (TRLCC), has poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into campaigns to unseat Reps. Carter Casteel (R-New Braunfels), Roy Blake (R-Nacogdoches), Tommy Merritt (R-Longview), Delwin Jones (R-Lubbock) and Charlie Geren (R-Ft. Worth). Leininger, an ardent supporter of school vouchers, gave:
  • $148,000 in cash and in-kind contributions to Casteel's opponent, retired Lt. Col. Nathan Macias. Leininger's gift represents 92 percent of all funds raised on Macias' 30-day report.
  • $160,000 to former Rep. Wayne Christian, who is challenging Blake. (92 percent)
  • $148,000 to Longview businessman Mark Williams in his bid to unseat Merritt. (83 percent)
  • $130,000 to Jones's opponent, Van Wilson, a Lubbock developer. (93 percent)
  • $32,000 to retired Lt. Colonel Chris Hatley to oust Geren. (50 percent)"

While they may come together in the general in the primary they are anything but together.
