A recent poll doing by the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Minnesota Public Radio, shows Sen. Kerry barely squeaking by Bush in a direct match up, 43 percent to 41 percent... 16 percent undecided.
See article here.
Bush's approval rating was at 53 overall... Getting high marks for fighting terrorism. His approval on the economy was his weakest with 47 approve/42 disapprove.
Other interesting points.
Gen. Wesley Clark did next best behind Kerry, still losing to Bush by 5 points. Edwards was next losing to Bush by 6 points. No mention of how undecided voters were, but the article does mention Clark and Edwards have fairly low name recognition.
Worst performance of the major Democratic candidates was Howard Dean, losing to Bush by 14 points in a direct matchup. Lieberman did better losing by 8 points.
I found it interesting that this state is incredibly unfavorable to Howard Dean. He won't do well in the caucuses in March.
