I have been seeing so many diary entries about Dean's supposed attack flyers. First of all, do we really know that Dean or his campaign actually authorized it? Was it out of control Deanies? Was it someone who wanted to make CLark and Dean look bad at the same time?
Second, what was the text of the flyer? I keep seeing all this crap about how Dean was spreading lies about Clark and distorting quotes and such. However, I have not seen the text of the flyer. Can someone please put the text of the flyer up? If we don't have it, then what the hell are we fighting over.
If Dean actaully tried to distort quotes about Clark, then I will be the first to urge him to stop and apoligise. However, all that I have heard is that he questioned Clark's position on the War and whether or not he was a Democrat of conveniance. On the bases of just knowing that alone and not what he said, what are poeple bitching about it?
Clark had a problem explaining his position on the War when he first started. His speaches on the record were before there was a resolution. He voted for Reagan and praised Bush at a GOP fundraiser. With the exception of affirmative action, I have not seen any quote or proof of him furthering a progressive issue before he wanted to be president.
The point is that I don't know why Clark is now a Democrat, or if his position on the War stayed firm after a resolution was passed, and niether do any of you.
We should at least have a debate about it, shouldn't we? If it is not true, then Clark will come back with facts to prove it, and then we can move on.
Oh, and by the way, in CLark's stump he pretty much says that Dean is not a leader and critises Dean for bragging about his fund raising. He has all but called Dean a draft dodger on many occasions. Just becuase you sound like a gentleman when you attack someone does not mean it isn't an attack.
Someone please post the actual text of the flyer so we can be done with this.
