She calls it a "joke" but the conservative author/spokeswoman Anne Coulter has threatened the life of Supreme Court Justice J.P. Stevens.

The various networks and interview programs have infuriated many time and time again by having her on their shows, treating her like a real commentator and taking her blather seriously...instead of confronting her or dismissing her ravings as being from a deranged person; thus denying her legitimacy and a national audience.

By supporting her, the networks have helped create the toxic political atmosphere we now
live in. She feels comfortable making joking threats on the life of a
Supreme Court Justice, with no worries about visits from US Marshals, FBI, or
"Homeland Security" as a terrorist.
In some way, these programs should be confronted about their frequent "guest's" actions.
Does they approve? Will she be asked back? Should they ask all Republican guests
if they agree about plotting against sitting Federal Judges? How do they feel
about conspiracy? If they can do it to Democrats about some obscure academic, why can't we ask about the very public actions of a National Conservative Personality?
I completely support the efforts of the "Open Letter to Chris Mathews" site and think we should take the "Giuliani" approach ...don't let Mathews or other programs get by with a broken window, graffiti, or allowing trash to be tossed on the airwaves from their vehicle.

Update-
I don't understand this advice to hoard one's diary. They are useless of you don't use them.
As for "don't waste your breath, she's not worth it"... of course she's not but how do you think the Right Wing intimidated the mass media to such an extent that they are essentially an extension of the Republican National Committee? It makes no sense to whine about the lapdog nature of the MSM and then let folks like Coulter, etc... be outrageous for the media companies. Behavior that would land anyone else in jail or the observation ward is rewarded by the national exposure. By claiming to be both Republican and Conservative, she is part of the club. Other club members should directly say if they agree with her or not. Advertisers on shows that consistently promote her need to be asked if *they* agree with her views. Does she represent their stockholders?
All legitimate questions in today's political atmosphere, brought about (in no small part) by Coulter and her enablers.
