Ralph Nader continues to be a great debating subject kere at Dailykos. In the wake of Nader's "advice" to John Kerry. I have some advice to the Nader Deaniacs. Quit being damned hypocrites.
These people lectured me and others on why we should not hate Ralph Nader, Nader is only saying what Dems should be saying, don't hate Nader, just work harder...etc... How funny. These are the same people who blasted John Kerry in the primaries. Even with Dean ahead by 25 points, they didn't relent on the "Bash Kerry" express. It wasn't just Kerry, but since Lieberman and Gephardt are now irrelevant, I'll simply focus on Kerry. Why is it ok for these people to hate a fellow Democrat, but NOT OK for Democrats to despise a man who not only isn't a Democrat, but is a big reason Democrats don't have the WH right now? Yes, Nader did cost Gore in NH and FL. Exit polls show that Nader took far more votes from potential Gore voters than Bush voters. His stubborn denial of the obvious is only another reason why his campaign is not only a joke, but it is dangerous to Democrats and to the country.
Let's look at the repercussions of another Bush victory. Roe vs Wade is most likey gone. Tax Cuts for the wealthy will continue until the country is bankrupted. These lies over terrorism and the Iraq war will continue. Most likely, we will be another war that President Bush "deemed necessary." The FMA Amendment could well get passed. Corporate crooks like Kenneth Lay will continue to walk the streets. Environmental standards will continue to be gutted. Jobs will continue to disappear.
Can anyone tell me why they think all of these things will happen if John Kerry is President of the United States? If you do, you are out of your mind.
I just love the hypocrisy. "F**k John Kerry, the lying prick, the lying jerk, spreading lies about Howard Dean. How dare he." The same things said about Gephardt and Lieberman, so I know it wasn't just a Kerry thing. Now all of a sudden, Democrats shouldn't do it to Nader eh? There was a time where hypocrisy was mostly limited to the Republicans. Now I see it as well amongst supporters of Howard Dean who railed against hypocrisy almost every day. Dean was a true adult, especially when he realized he blew it. It's too bad some of his supporters can't take that lesson. Guess what, you vote for Nader, you're going against Howard Dean, who has asked you not to do that.
I have the highest respect for Howard Dean. If Nader supporters let Bush win another term, I hope to see Howard on the campaign trail Jan 1, 2005, running for President again. I just have words for some of his folks that are now in Nader's camp. It's too bad. It's too bad you are attempting to undermine everything he worked for, everything that Dean is fighting for will be shot dead if Bush is re-elected. if that's what you want fine. if you want Roe vs Wade outlawed, the FMA Amendment to get new life, environment destroyed, more jobs disappear, then by God vote for Nader. By the way, Nader is taking money from Bush donors, including Big Business, which is he railing against. You might as well vote for Bush. And if you think all these things would happen under John Kerry, well all I can say is that you are wrong, and, forgive me, out of your damned minds.
