I just recently got back from a well attended march across the campus of the University of Miami. On Tuesday night of this past week, the janitorial staff (they are actually employed by Unicco and contracted by the University) walked off the job for a number of labor violations commited in the recent past. i have a report from the protest march below the fold.
This was definately the largest attended action I have witnessed and/or been a part of since I moved down here a year and a half ago. I would guess participation was around 500 people. This was a march with both students, faculty and workers to show support for the walk off. I saw lots of great response from the community and passersby. The cops were also very well behaved and so really it was a very sucessful march. I think I'm a bit dehydrated and I need a nap so this entry is going to be short but I'll leave you guys with some links if you would like more info about the strike.

So a sucessful march all around. I'll put up some pictures from the march in to comments a bit later but for now I am going to hydrate.
