QUICK: MSNBC

QUICK. BEFORE THEY PULL THE PLUG, EVERYONE WHO IS INDOORS AND HAS MSNBC PLEASE TUNE INTO MSNBC'S MEMORIAL DAY HOOPLA.
It was 10:45 EDT, and I was watching. Were you? Someone should make an open thread to monitor these folks.
I just watched a Marine being patched through to his son. It was billed to be a surprise for both of them. I think they surprised them all right, but it was more shock and awe than thanks for the memories.
I just don't understand why they have to use the child like that. The MSNBC anchor actually said to the child that although his father can't be at the kid's baseball games, what does he say to the other kids about where his father is. The child's response was "he's fighting." I think he meant to say "he's fighting for our freedoms" or "he's fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here" or something schmaltzy like that.
Then, they have to ask the dad how he is going to celebrate the kid's birthday in the next couple of days. I can only imagine what thoughts ran through the father's head other than the obvious that he would be, of course, celebrating it in the middle of a war zone! Wait til next year, son...
I hate to say it, but neither one of them said they loved the other. Yes, the child said he missed his dad, but that was it.
PLEASE WATCH AND REPORT.....
