Surprise, surprise. Wisconsin's GOP-stomped legislature
announced that they just will not be able to put the amendment to ban any benefits for unmarried/gay couples on the ballot until November 2006. Quite convenient. If you want to help out, please go
here.
I guess they figure that virulent gay-bashing will help them defeat Jim Doyle, Herb Kohl, Tammy Baldwin and Ron Kind in 2006, even though it didn't seem to a lot of good in 2004. Of course what we will see in 2006 will make 2004 seem like a My Pretty Pony convention. If Doyle and Kohl lose (although I don't see Kohl losing) get ready for the usual "blame the gays" Dem dance.
At least the nutjobs in Kansas went ahead and put their amendment on the spring 2005 ballot, in spite of their having a surprisingly large amount of powerful Democrats (2) in such a blood-red state. Apparently Kansas is the only state where Republicans actually stick to their principles instead of politics.
