We are all Karl Rove's Bitch

Mon May 08, 2006 at 04:10:34 PM PDT

I see no reason that we should pick solely on Tim Russert -- as deserving as he is and as good as it might feel.

You only have to look back at the detritus strewn around our national political landscape since 2000 to draw the conclusion that we have all been Karl Rove's bitches.

Illustrations below the fold.

A bifurcated economy where 1% thrive while most falter or simply tread water.

A series of no lobbyist left behind legislation for energy, pharmaceutical, insurance, and banking conglomerates.

A castrated press corps lapping gently at the hand which has wielded the snips.

Democrats (progressive and moderates) club fighting over the "soul of the party" as the ship of state founders on reef.

Thousands of our country persons dead or wounded -- their bodies and minds smashed against a monument of disastrous policy and outrageous ego.

An emerging SCOTUS with the empathy of Stalin and the acumen of ... Bush.  A justice system increasingly out of touch with the needs of our citizenry (unless you are fetal prospective citizenry.)

Hundreds of billions of dollars squandered from the treasury.  Wait, make that from potential future treasuries.

Need I continue?

Tim Russert may be Karl Rove's bitch but he has much company.

I've been warning folks about this bullshit since 1981. I've been offering one of the few viable solutions on the web since 1994.

It ain't my fault if folks thought I was just a friggin street musician. You all are so freakin obsessed with finding the solutions among your "celebrities."

If you want to defeat the Borg, you have to become Q.

It's that freakin simple, and it don't take a street musician to figure it out. All of the technology necessary for the global ascension of our species to Son of Man already exists.

Or maybe folks would rather wait for BushCo to bring the wrath of our stupidity to life in the name of Jesus.

frankly, it's a good example of tough love.  We need to hear these kinds of things, it helps us correct our course.  Karl is a villain if there ever was one.

Here's the way Karl Rove gets to people they let HIM define evertying for them--not me any longer!

Here's his BIG PLAN for this election and other elections it's very simple:

Mr. Rove's playbook is drawn straight from the one that worked for him in 2004: first, get conservatives fired up enough to vote, a particularly important goal in a midterm election, in which turnout is usually quite low. Second, make sure the election is not just about Mr. Bush's performance, but also about the choice between a Republican Party defined on its own terms and a Democratic Party defined on Mr. Rove's.

  •  Attack Competence 'Dilbert - Way of The Weasel' (1+ / 0-)

I found a part of "Dilbert and the Way of The Weasel" that describes Rove perfectly - always undermine people on the things where they are strong and you are weak. If they are accurate and don't make mistakes, call them "obsessed with detail." If they aren't clock watches and regularly put in a little more than 40 hours, say they "don't manage their time effectively." This is not fresh insight, but it must be repeated until everyone understands it.

We saw this with Gore where he was portrayed as the creation of media consultants because they helped him pick his shirts, while Bush was buying that turkey ranch (without horses, which he can't ride)and buying his precious little cowboy Halloween costumes.

And that worked so well that we had the Swiftboaters attacking Kerry on his war record, even though a year later the press went to Vietnam and found witnesses to the battle.

But in the end, the consequence was that we ended up with Rove as the poisonous little queen (no pun intended) bee surrounded by layer upon layer of incompetents, suckups, and imbeciles, who have nearly destroyed the country, presumably because he had killed off every competent person in his circle. Now he fights with Cheney and Rumsfeld, who at least had the sense to partner up rather than try to kill each other off.

One question is whether or not blogswarms will be able to help counter those tactics in the future. The bigger question is whether people that understand this are going to have their "Mad as hell.." moment and go door to door, talk to people, and then give people rides to the polls on election day.
