After reading a Katrina-related news report that gas was expected to average $3.00/gallon by this weekend, I thought it might be worth filling-up just in case.
The cheapest regular gas in my central Boston neighborhood (Jamaica Plain) was $2.69 on Sunday at the local discount station.
I drove there at 4:00 PM today and it was already $3.19.
Just to be sure, I checked the other 3 stations in my neighborhood and they were higher, at $3.29 and $3.31 for a gallon of regular.
What prices are other folks seeing in your hometowns?
