Sunday's Meeting With Ned Lamont in West Hartford

Mon Jul 10, 2006 at 11:24:02 AM PDT

There were well over 100 citizens at Sunday's meeting in West Hartford, CT.

Ned Lamont covered a wide-range of topics and countries and he proved that he is not just a "One-Issue Candidate", as stated by the Lieberman Campaign.

The claim by Lieberman that just young "wackos" on the Internet are Ned Lamont's sole supporters is way off the mark.

Sunday's meeting was comprised of concerned, adult citizens who are worried about the direction our Country is heading.  They ranged from their late teens to their eighties; with a majority of the crowd that came to see Mr Lamont ranging anywhere from their thirties to their seventies.  Two of us made the effort in our wheelchairs to get to the gathering.  Sorry Joe, but I wouldn't classify the adults I saw there as "wackos"!

Ned Lamont first talked to the citizens.  Then he answered a broad spectrum of questions.

Q & A at the gathering covered The United States, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Israel, Pakistan, India, North Korea, Japan, China, Russia and Mexico.

The topics discussed by Ned Lamont and the questions/answers covered
·    The Iraq War
·    The North Korea Missiles Threat
·    The Middle Class and their Lost Jobs through Trade Agreements
·    The Environment and the Kyato Accord
·    Our Lack of Energy Independence via the secret Cheney Energy Task Force and our missed opportunity after 9/11
·    Keeping Social Security as it is and not privatizing it
·    Medicare Rx with competitive drug pricing
·    Basic Health Care for all especially the young
·    Our Education system which would be Ned Lamont's key subject in the Senate
·    Allowing Emergency Contraception for all Rape Victims
·    Bi-Lingual voting and getting everybody to speak English through a better school system.

So clearly, Ned Lamont is not a "One Country, One Topic" candidate.

It's time for any uncommitted voters to come hear Ned Lamont and join the Ned Lamont Campaign.  All of us 20-80 year-old "wackos" would welcome you.

Ned Lamont event: "There were well over 100 citizens at Sunday's meeting in West Hartford, CT."

Liebermans Campaign event in Stamford today:"Only 20-25 people showed for the event. There were more Lieberyouth (at least 30) than guests (so sad)."(source

Even Liebermans DINO guest of honor, Biden, decided to ditch Lieberman by missing the train

I was there too - in fact you sat next to my sister!
(She mentioned sitting next to someone using a wheelchair) I was sitting in back next to the fan :)

Wasn't it a wonderful time? I wish all CT voters would have a chance to see Ned the way we did. This group was as non-wacko as you could imagine, what garbage the other side spouts... The event organizers were extremely satisfied with the tunrout, but I was disappointed there didn't seem to be press in attendance, nor mention in today's Courant.

I understand that Lieberman cannot scare up any volunteers at his events. The attendees are paid, staff people. Telling.

I spoke with Mr Lamont after the Q&A and told him how my brother-in-law has a nephew in Iraq on his soon to be 4th deployment.  He hates it over there and says the Iraqis don't appreciate what we are doing to give them freedom.

I then told Mr Lamont that my blood boiled over when Rumsfeld said straight to a soldier's face that "You go to war with the equipment you have, not with the equipment you need".  I was ready to throw my crutch through the television!!

I said "Where was Lieberman yelling at Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld after that comment was made"?  Where was Lieberman asking for Rumsfeld's Head?

That's why I got into this campaign from it's getgo to help Mr Lamont in any way, shape or form.

I try to send the campaign all I can find on the internet to help their cause.  It's my little way of doing my part from my wheelchair.

Oh wait. We have nothing but LIBERAL REPORTERS working in a LIBERAL MEDIA here in America!! How could I have forgotten that?
