Many liberal blogs today (including dKos) have been up in arms over the Bush campaign's use of 9/11 wreckage imagery in their television advertisments. 9/11 victims' families and the Firefighters Union have been very vocal in denouncing the ads.
How much play has this been getting in the free, for-profit, mainstream press? A brief perusal of the internet (at 4:30 PM PST) shows that the story is getting quite a bit of play:
CNN: Main headline story
CBSNews: Main headline story
MSNBC: Secondary headline story
ABCNews: Minor story
FoxNews: Not covered
NYTimes: Main story
WashPost: Main story
Where does this story go from here? Will this still be an issue tomorrow? Next week? Do we shame the Administration into stopping the ads and prevent them from issuing new ones? Does the White House sustain any lasting political damage?
