Based on the conjunction of God, guns and gays in the conservative agenda, I cannot help but wonder which type of gun Jesus would choose (either for himself or his followers.)
Would Jesus choose a shotgun, (presumably a .12 gauge) considered by many to be the'home defense' weapon of choice due to ease of use, wide spray pattern and lack of over-penetration? Would Jesus choose a pump or automatic?
Would Jesus choose a handgun? 9mm, .45 or .50 cal? Would Jesus recommend a concealed carry license? Would Jesus feel the need for high-capacity magazines? Hollow-points? Body-armor penetrating rounds?
Would Jesus choose a hunting rifle or an assault rifle? Given the arguments for assault rifles as hunting rifles, this may be a moot question.
Jesus would be faced with the same challenges that his modern day followers are faced with; personal and family defense, 2nd Amendment rights, potential societal breakdown. How would Jesus answer these questions?
Based on the followng 'Commandments of Jesus':
"Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" Matt.19:17-19
"Thou shalt do no murder" Matt. 19:18
"As ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise" Luke 6:31
"Love one another as I have loved you" John 15:12
"Have peace one with another ... and be reconciled to thy brother" Mark 9:50; Matt. 5:23-24
"If thy brother trespass against thee seven times a day...thou shalt forgive him" Luke 17:3-4; Matt. 18:21-22
"Love your enemies" Matt. 5:44; Matt. 26:52
"Resist not evil" Matt. 5:39-41
"Do good to them which hate you" Luke 6:27-28
"Take no thought for your life" Matt. 6:25-34
"Be not afraid" Mark 5:36: Luke 12:4-7
what constitutes a truly Christian armament?
