Dean supporters need to get a grip if they think they are going to hold the rest of us hostage so we can get their support. Your arrogance and silly stubborness is what hurt you in your efforts to campaign for your candidate. You all just assumed that everyone should be in love with Dean's message, but in reality his message only hits with people searching for a savior. I hear that quite a few of you want to take your ball and go home, well, goodbye! We have grassroots groups working across the country, a failing President and a frontrunner who has 91% of the Dems willing to vote for him, you all can go home and we'd still win. But, if you'd like to work with us, and work to change things from within the party, and work to help shift the public dialogue in a progressive reform minded direction then stick around, because it'd be nice to have a few more people who believe that reform is something worth fighting for.
Yes, i'm using some harsh language to address this situation, but I figure the Dean supporters are used to harsh language, because Dean uses it in his speeches.
We have a liberal talk radio network kicking off in the spring, Gore is still in the process of buying his tv network, the blogs are alive with sounds of reform, and progressive ideas, the center for american progress has become a one stop shop for progressive rebuttals to the right wing bullshit, the ny times bestseller list is topped by books pointing out the faults of our current commander in cheif, this kind of movement will not be derailed because 300,000 Dean loyalists decieded that they got a raw deal and they want to hold their breath till they get their way.
So, to the Dean folks i say, there is room here for you, but don't think for a second that we need you to carry on with the fight, it'd be nice to have you, but if you deciede to stay away I hope you have a nice day.
