Just a quickie, because I have a longer story saved up for DKos for tomorrow.
I saw that title for an article on the Wall Street Journal website:
"You Retire, You Die"
And I thought, "Ah, the WSJ has analyzed Bush's new Social Security plan."
Well, no, it's actually about workaholic CEOs in their 80s who still feel compelled to spend long hours wielding their power and ordering subordinates about.
Then came my second, paranoid, thought -- the same I'd had when I read an earlier piece, in the New York Times I think, about those of the normal retirement age who continue to work -- "Ah ha, propaganda! They're trying to convince the baby boomers that they'll be better off if they NEVER collect Social Security, that we should work until we die in harness."
And my last thought: Well yes, YOU RETIRE, YOU DIE would be the truth-in-advertising title of what George Bush thinks should be the ideal social security program.
