Greetings from the Echo Chamber. Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to introduce Myron Ebell, one of the top Climate Criminals associated with the Bush family crime syndicate.
I would be shocked if you are not familiar with Mr. Ebell and his handiwork. Last year, he received the much coveted Lubricant of the Year from Exxon-Mobil. He holds the record for the longest uninterrupted period without a single act of integrity. Without further adieu, here is Myron Ebell.
Good evening. My name is Myron Ebell.
As you can see, I am currently director of energy and global warming policy at the Competitive Enterprise Institute. I also chair the Cooler Heads Coalition, which comprises over two dozen non-profit groups in this country and abroad that question global warming and oppose energy conservation policies.
Let me start with somebasic facts about CEI.
Called "the best environmental think tank in the country" by The Wall Street Journal, the Competitive Enterprise Institute focuses on the development and promotion of free market approaches to environmental policy. We believe that where individual property rights exist in environmental resources, the environment is most likely to be protected, and that market institutions more effectively allow for the realization of environmental values than political agencies and bureaucracies. As a leading proponent of free market environmentalism, CEI's program includes both an overall effort to reframe the environmental debate and a series of targeted projects to reform specific policies, ranging from risk regulation to global warming.
Now you see why The Wall Street Journal is printed on the finest toilet paper. There is nothing worse than newsprint ink stains on your ass.
Here is proof formal scientific training is not necessary to spread disinformation about climate science.
A native of Baker City, Oregon, Mr. Ebell holds a B.A. from Colorado College and an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics. He also took a few courses at the University of California at San Diego and at Peterhouse, Cambridge University.
I got my start washing out Grover Norquist's delicates when he headed the National Taxpayers Union. I moved on American Land Rights Association, where we developed strategies to steal publicly owned land. Next, I became policy director at Frontiers of Freedom. While at FoF, I helped fashioned the attack on Endangered Species Act, federal lands policies, and scientists conducting research on global warming. These position papers have been adopted without revision by Richard Pombo and James Inhofe, two of slimiest bastards to slither through Congress in over a century.
You have seen the ads attacking Gore and the Global Warming Chicken Littles produced by the Cooler Heads Coalition. I am particularly pleased with my work with Cooler Heads. With a straight face, I describe "Cooler Heads" members as 20 "non-profit, non-partisan, public policy, taxpayer, activist, seniors, and consumer groups." Here is the list. Judge for yourself.

Pretty impressive bunch of organizations dedicated to neoconservative causes and putting an end to democracy in America, if I do say so myself.
When CEI wanted list my accomplishments, we let the critics, tree-huggers, candy-asses, and cry-babies sing my praises.
Among numerous recognitions, Greenpeace featured Mr. Ebell and three of his CEI colleagues in "A Field Guide to Climate Criminals" distributed at the UN climate meeting in Montreal in December 2005. Rolling Stone magazine in its November 17, 2005 issue named Mr. Ebell one of six "Misleaders" on global warming in a special feature, along with President Bush, Senator James Inhofe, and Michael Crichton. In November 2004 as a result of a BBC Radio interview, seven members of the British House of Commons from all three major parties introduced a motion to censure Mr. Ebell "in the strongest possible terms." In its May 22, 2004 special Issues and Answers issue, National Journal profiled Mr. Ebell as one of ten people who would lead the global warming debate during the next presidential administration. The Clean Air Trust in March 2001 named Mr. Ebell its "Villain of the Month" for his role in convincing the Bush Administration not to regulate carbon dioxide emissions.
I want to close with an example of my poison penmanship. I have an army of interns and skinterns going through studies published in scientific journals that might cast doubt on global warning.
This article found an decrease in surface temperature of the oceans over the past years. That sure sounds like it contradicts global warming, doesn't it? I provided a link to the pre-print, but I know most people would not read much beyond the abstract because all those 50-dollar egghead jargon words and numbers would cause the brain of any dittohead to freeze.
Now if they actually bothered to read the paper and get to the discussion, they would find the following statement.
The recent cooling of the upper ocean implies a decrease in the thermosteric component of sea level. Estimates of totalsea level Leuliette et al., 2004;, however, show continued sea-level rise during the past 3 years. This suggests that other contributions to sea-level rise, such as melting of land-bound ice, have accelerated. This inference is consistent with recent estimates of ice mass loss in Antarctica [Velicogna and Wahr, 2006] and accelerating ice mass loss on Greenland [Rignot et al., 2006] but closure of the global sea level budget cannot yet be achieved.
That's rights, boys and girls, these data are a trivial piece to the puzzle. Sea levels have continued to rise despite this small decline is ocean surface temperatures. The continued rise in sea-level is created by the melting of ice on land due to global warming. God, I love the stupid people of this country. It is like stealing candy from babies.
I want to thank our sponsors from the oil industry, who have made my work as a Climate Criminal so rewarding.
Since 1998, CEI has received the following generous contributions:
