Netroots Take Lieberman off CT ballot...at least for now

If you missed this diary the first time around, you might want to take another look at it.  The original subject talked about how the Connecticut Secretary of State's office was listing Joe Lieberman on the ballot as a Democrat (and after Ned Lamont, defying both electoral reality AND the alphabet).  Well, lo and behold...same-day, and the SoS has actually fixed it!

Just saying, folks...sometimes the angry outraged phone calls actually get something done.  And it's nice to see when it does!

    Wow -- Recommended.  Great job getting the SOS to fix this.

    A suggestion, especially for folks in CT:
    To keep this "disappearance" permanent, check the signature gatherers! It is quite possible that the Con-Lie party won't have enough signatures to qualify Lieberman for the November election, if the petitions are excluded when the signature-gatherer did not meet the legal requirements.

    Election officials almost never check to see if the signature-gatherer was valid, but rather, tend only to count how many of the signaturs were valid. If local folks went in, and made a point to get petitions excluded for invalid gatherers (or failure of the gatherer to correctly fill out their part), this disappearance from the ballot could continue.  

    P.S. Did Lieberman's people fail to notice that they have named their new party "Con - Lie"??  Wow.  Will the person who came up with the name be fired?  Lieberman might be trying to play from Rove's book, but he doesn't really know how. (Otherwise we would have had something like the Freedom & Apple Pie party).

  Democrat and Independent on their web site to just Independent. It's not enough. He's not an Independent. He's the only member of the Connecticut for Lieberman party.
