Well, it looks like a big advance was made in stem cell research. That is good news. Great news. As a member of a crazy genetically mutated family, it is news that could save my life. So what is the problem?

South Koreans. Those of us in the sciences have bemoaned the loss of our technological edge in this Fundie world, and this is a great example.
Why teach the kids evolution, when Jebus is all they need? Because they are going to get smoked by some kid somewhere else that has been taught critical thinking and given the support necessary to make revolutionary advances.
It is only a matter of time before the big research centers move from the good old US of A to friendlier places. They limit our ability to import the best scientists and now they are limiting the science itself. This is the result. That Asian office the firm is always talking about may be necessary sooner than we think.
