Progressive Action East Bay is meeting at that the Conga Lounge Rockridge/Oakland now and once a week through the November election. Our next meeting is > Tonight/Wednesday, August 30th 6:30-8:30. We are currently working on a fantastic event on 9/27 that might interest you.

TAKING IT BACK!

* to be held at the Grand Lake Theatre, Oakland CA, September 27, 2006.  Please see the description below and note that we will be have a LIVE Air America simulcast of the Will and Wille (Brown) Show with an audience of 600+.  We are now working on all actions associated with this event and need more volunteers to join our Group effort.

Progressive Action East Bay is taking action this Fall to take back the Country and Congress in 2006.  Central to this effort is our event "TAKE IT BACK" which is an effort to help people "plug-in" and "get active" for the Fall election. To be held at the Grand Lake Theatre Wednesday evening, Sept 27th , 7 to 9 pm. We have attending many National, Regional, Local Politicians and many Major GOTV groups will participate as well. We know this will draw a large group of motivated Dems & Activists.

In addition to the LIVE radio broadcast on stage we also will also premier a 20 minute promotion of a 2007 documentary film on election theft in this country. Those that have already seen the trailer say it is amazing work.

After the film and the remarks from our speakers, questions from the audience and then encourage all to visit our numerous booths in the lobby filled with progressive organizations.  These will include (those contacted - confimed and/or to be contacted) the League of Conservation Voters, Project Blue Bridge, Buy Blue, Sierra Club ActBlue, Alameda Democratic Party, DNC, and representatives of the Democratic "Get Out the Vote" 50 state project. These organiztions will be staged in the lobby ready to register voters and sign up activists this fall to take progressive action.

We are really excited to have the event at the Grand Lake Theatre. Rep. Barbara Lee held a Town Hall there last July to an audience of 600+ SRO. We are certain we will do the same.

    Kudos to all those involved.

    I can't be there tonight, but I will look for announcements of the event at Grand Lake.

    I hope the East Bay progressive community will get focused on defeating Pombo!

      Sure like to see you there. The LIVE Air America Radio Show with Will & Willie(Brown) is going to be awesome. We are going to have a Who's Who in politics there to be interviewed during the 3 hour show. And other surprises as well.
