I'm getting sick of the whining and moaning about Terry McAulliffe and the DNC that is so prevelant on dKos.
Whats the reasons behind this?
Take a look here for more info:

1. Lack of understanding on what the DNC does.
The DNC has three focuses. It is there to help build successful state parties through the use of fundraising, base vote outreach, and other political jobs. It is out to promote the general Democratic message. And thirdly, its out to elect Presidents to the white house. Note that Congressional people are done by the DCCC, Senatorial people are done by the DSCC, Statehouse people are done by the DGA, and state legislative races that are done by the DLCC and the state parties. In 2002, it wasn't the DNC's job to do anything but help state parties and test out strategies to be used in the Presidential. If you want to fume about 2002, (where we won a lot of governor's races) talk to Nita Lowley or Patty Murray, who chaired the DCCC and DSCC respectively.
2. The DNC does not promote a progressive message.
The DNC is only supposed to promote stuff that was agreed to in the 2000 platform committee. While all dKos-ers think they are right, and I do agree with many here, the DNC has to cover everyone in the party from John Breaux to Dennis Kucinich. They talk about points on the platform and points of general agreement, but it would be idiotic for them to be anti-Iraq War when nearly half of the Dem caucuses are for it in October. The Mack was elected by 453 National Committee members, its not his job to set policy, its the people who were elected by their constituents.
3. The DNC doesn't defend Howard Dean.
Imagine the shoe on the other foot, Dean calling Kerry a person of the special interests and Terry McA defends Kerry. Then Dean wins the nomination, Terry McA is on the record of opposing Dean on something. Its his job to defend candidates from Repub attack, but he's gotta stay neutral (which the DNC has done since 1932 when they were openly against Roosevelt).
My two cents, which I'll update more after seeing if people on dkos can be like kos himself and support the Democratic party, which includes the DNC! We're all in it together you know?
