It's been 10 minutes already; what have you done to help Ned?

We have all watched with amazement as Ned Lamont soared to victory in the first high profile national (despite what kos says) race supported by the netroots.

Kos suggested an action list. Well, its been at least 10 minutes since the victory/victory-tied-for-third speeches were given....what have you done to help Ned and bring Joe to his senses?

Here's what I did....

1. A comment in Kos's first victory post noted that Obama had better support Lamont...well, he's my senator, so I wrote him an email immediately, saying exactly the same thing.

2. Next, I sent another email to Dick Durbin, reiterating that he had better back away from the Kool-Aid, and support the party's candidate.

3. Finally, I contacted Reid. Asked him to consider what would happen in a 49-49-1(Sanders)-1(Lieberman) situation following the November election? Can we be certain that Joe would not caucus with the Republicans? Of course not. Strip the guy of his assignments, I said!

Each person reading this should be doing the same thing; Everybody up tonight should be pumped enough to have done this already! Even if you are surrounded by Republican congresscritters and senators, WRITE TO REID NOW AND LET HIM KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT INDEPENDENT dEMOCRAT JOE LIEBERMANN.

Then, bask in the moment of the power of netroots.

UPDATE:...and I just gave Tester $20.01.

  I urge you to make a public declaration of support for Ned Lamont, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate from the state of Connecticut. The Connecticut Democratic voters have spoken their preference tonight.

  Now that incumbent Joseph I. Lieberman has announced his intention to mount an independent candidacy, he should forfeit his leadership positions on Senate committees.

  I called Hillary's Senate campaign number and got ahold of a staffer. I asked if the Senator would be endorsing Lamont tomorrow. She didn't know, but said someone would call me back tomorrow with an answer.

  I e-mailed Reid and asked him to stipp Lieberman of his committee assignments.

  I e-mailed the DSCC and asked them to support Lamont as well.

  I also called Joe's campaign and left a message. I'm sure that won't do any good, but one more voice telling him to drop can't hurt.

  calling our Senator Inouye to tell him to fully support Ned Lamont, the peoples choice! And urge him to persuade Mr. Lieberman to abandon his thoughts of running as an independent!!! I couldn't believe it when our Senator "Annoyme" and he does occasionally annoy me, said he would support a Lieberman independent run. Perhaps some others would like to remind the great Senator from Hawaii that it won't be all that long before he needs "our" votes to remain in office!!!

•  I wrote to Chuck Schumer

  I told him that until I hear a clear and unequivocal statement that the DSCC will support the duly elected Democratic nominee in Conn. and that not one dime of DSCC contributions will go to support Lieberman's independent race, I will not make another contribution to the DSCC.

  I encourage each of you to do the same. Then call Senators (Clinton, Boxer, Dodd) and Gov (Kaine, Richardson, etc) to ask that they demand that Lieberman drop this independent bids.
