Air America Radio just picked up a new, national affiliate: Sirius Satellite Radio.
In fact, according to the press release, Sirius now has two left-of-center radio channels: its current "Sirius Left" channel and now Air America Radio. Air America Radio continues to build its network, and this addition is a major step forward.
Sirius Left features programming by Ed Schultz, Alan Colmes, Lynn Samuels, Alex Bennett, and "The Young Turks." Sirius will also provide the full slate of Air America Radio's programming.
Sirius Right (one channel) will carry wingnuts Michael Savage, Michael Reagan, Laura Ingraham, and Tony Snow, amother others. This channel exists already.
Sirius Satellite Radio has fewer commercials than its major competitor, XM, but at the same price (if paid annually). Sirius also has one more satellite than XM, so coverage is reportedly a bit better. Finally, Sirius is not owned in part by Clear Channel (as XM is).
