It's Time People - A Democratic War on ERROR!

Sat Sep 02, 2006 at 06:55:46 PM PDT

We all know about the Republican color coded War on Terror ... but it really sounds more like an advertisement FOR terror rather than a strategy for combatting Terror.
What mis-steps, malaprops, cavils, lies, cheats, steals, etc do the Republicans get away with daily simply because the Democrats don't call bullshit on them?
Follow below the fold... more will be revealed...
What's needed this last 60+ days before the election [and a continuing work in progress for the '08 race]: A Time-line of the screw ups, the malfeasance, the frauds, the sins - large and small of this administration and overweaning power-mad government.
Which will spawn:
A series of Timely T-shirts [isn't alliteration SO media -friendly?]
Bounteous Bumper Stickers
Significant Signs
Terrific Talking Points.
All advertizing the Democratic WAR ON ERROR!

How?
List the screwups etc. Point to a timeline [Wikipedia or other] It's time for the ammunition to come out and the gloves to come off folks. Point to Republican errors often, and you can use the handy, oft-used media mechanism for listing oopsies... "One year ago today," "two years ago today," "three years ago today," four years ago today," "5 freakin' years ago today".... follow this sqib with the ERROR that was perpetrated by the Republicans at that time. Source the info so that it is undeniable and post it.

Any volunteers to create a "War On Error" daily column? Any interest in creating one? BiPM's got his Cheers and Jeers but there's room for more. Snark is optional but works well in deflating blowhards.

As an example September 15th is a particularly rich day for malfeasance. 1972 some of the Watergate "Plumbers" were indicted. quotes from the Encyclopedia Americana

Americans were deeply troubled by the scandal. Attempts by Republican officials to discredit Democratic leaders and disrupt their campaign threatened the political process. Electronic surveillance presented a threat to civil liberties. Abuse of "national security" and "executive privilege" to thwart the investigation suggested that those concepts needed more precise definitions. The misuse of large campaign donations suggested the need for further reform legislation. The willingness of Nixon and his aides to use the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in unlawful or unethical ways against their "enemies" was a reckless exploitation of the bureacracy.

This is an example of a Republican led Government gone wrong. Sound familiar?  Got some examples of this administation to share? Add them in the New and improved, Democrat War on Error listing for today, September 2nd
[Now with extra crunchie Bits] that follows immediately after this lede.

  •  We should be informative too.. (4+ / 0-)

For example, people should take every opportunity available to link to the official site of the Corrupt Bastards Club.  That way, when people search on  Google for "corrupt" or "corrupt bastards" they will be directed to the proper place.

Some may think this is simply sophmoric .... but since this is how Republicans refer to themselves, it seems only fitting to make sure that people interested in Corrupt bastards get directed to the official site.

    Dang I hate typos.....
Let's see if we can get enough ideas to have this as a daily or multi-post-per-week feature. If I'm the only contributor, then it'll be a twice a week at best kinda thing. Is that enough? It's a target-rich environment out there folks! By all means, let's shoot the biggest and fattest ducks in the barrel first, but keep shooting at 'em 'til we've potted them all. .  .  .  and taken back our government and nation from these power mad fools.

  •  GREAT IDEA! (0+ / 0-)

This is a great idea if it's well-timed, because such a slogan would be extremely catchy, and if it works, you'll be famous. (:

It's a great idea because it is not only entirely truthful and not misleading but it gives the uninformed Republicans out there something quite akin to flip-flop.  And it's entirely legitimate and speaks against corruption if done properly.  You should sell shirts (isn't there a site with custom prints?  Something cafe, cafe press?).  We -- at least we in the liberal grassroots -- ARE fighting a war against error, and not just subjective error but actual error.  Never mind issues, the Republicans just can't do it.  What did me in in 2004, what made me really lose all doubt that the Republicans were screwing us over, was when I read about the stifled EPA reports, where EPA officials were threatened to be fired for posting the results of a study which contradicted energy policy.  That error deserves a war on it.

  •  I like catchy words (0+ / 0-)

    and slogans.

The ones that caught my eye today were:

    stale bill of goods

    Back on track.

  •  OK, I took your advice. Made some t-shirt designs (0+ / 0-)

The link to the Cafe Press site with Tee shirt designs is here I'll add more to Monday's War on Error entry - This sounds like a bit of fun. I may be able to work ahead, like a calendar. Just have the listing there for when the day rolls around. Cool!!

Watch this spot for more "ammunition" for the War on Error!
